Don Bacon’s campaign website used to describe him as someone who “will always fight to defend the right to life and highlighted that he co-sponsored legislation to make the Hyde Amendment (a discriminatory policy blocking people working to make ends meet from insurance coverage for abortion) permanent. Plus, he has co-sponsored legislation that would make fertility treatments like IVF and abortion illegal nationwide. 

Now, that language is notably absent from his campaign website. His attempt to downplay his extremism shows he’s read the writing on the wall—if voters know about his views, he’ll lose. So instead, he’s lying to voters to try to keep them from realizing just how extreme he is.
