When Mike Rogers was in Congress, he consistently lobbied for a national abortion ban, and co-sponsored and voted for numerous bills that would have banned abortion.

He co-sponsored four bills “attempting to define human life as beginning at the moment of fertilization” which would criminalize abortion and some forms of contraception, and threaten access to assisted fertility treatments like IVF.

Now, as a Senate candidate, he’s attempting to backtrack his extremism and claim he won’t support a ban that goes further than Michigan’s current law. But given his extreme anti-reproductive freedom track record and the fact that just this year he called himself a “pro-life candidate,” we don’t believe him for a second.
