Reproductive Freedom for All Applauds the Passage of Arizona Ballot Measure Protecting Abortion Access
Washington, DC — Today, in a resounding vote, Arizonans approved the “Proposition 139” ballot measure locking abortion rights into the state’s constitution. This is a crucial victory for abortion access in the Southwest and yet another example of how abortion continues to be a salient issue for voters nationwide.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Abortion access isn’t just a winning issue with voters; it’s a fundamental right that impacts every aspect of their lives. This is a huge victory that reaffirms that voters across the political spectrum in red, blue, and purple states will mobilize to protect their freedoms. We’re excited to continue working with our partners and champions on the ground to ensure that reproductive freedom is a reality for all Arizona families.”
Reproductive Freedom for All Director of Arizona Campaigns Athena Salman released the following statement:
“Today is a great day for Arizona and our reproductive freedom. After knocking on countless doors, talking to thousands of voters, and activating our over 80,000 members in the state Prop. 139 was overwhelmingly passed. Voters of all parties, demographics, and backgrounds did this because Arizonans believe in abortion access and our freedom to make our own decisions about our lives, bodies, and futures. We did this to protect the future of future generations, including my daughters.”
