In Arizona, we are working to remove current restrictions on abortion, as well as prevent any future restrictions on reproductive freedom.

Abortion Rights and Access

• Abortion is currently banned after 15 weeks of pregnancy
• Requires in-person mandated counseling and wait at least 24 hours before receiving abortion care
• Requires medication abortion to be dispensed in person, banning the use of telemedicine or delivering medication abortion pills by mail
• Requires parental notice, restricting young people’s access to abortion care
• Only allows physicians to provide abortion care

Contraception

• Allows pharmacists to dispense birth control
• Guaranteed expanded coverage for contraceptives with private insurers
• Extended coverage for postpartum Medicaid
• No expanded coverage for Medicaid-funded family planning services
• No expanded access to emergency contraception

Pregnant Workers

• Arizona employers cannot discriminate against employees based on pregnancy
