New Jersey — Today, voters in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District re-elected NARAL-endorsed incumbent Rep. Mikie Sherrill to the U.S. House of Representatives. Her victory over anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican candidate Rosemary Becchi marks a huge win for reproductive freedom and saves a critical seat in the House.
In response to Sherrill’s victory, NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue released the following statement:
“We are proud to have endorsed Representative Sherrill, a proven champion for reproductive freedom, and congratulate her on winning this critical race. We know that Representative Sherill will continue to be a fierce defender of our fundamental rights in the U.S. House of Representatives—and we need elected officials like her now more than ever.”
In the 2020 election cycle, NARAL Pro-Choice America ran its largest-ever electoral program designed to reach, persuade, and mobilize key voters in target states across the country who are motivated by Trump and Republicans’ unyielding attacks on reproductive freedom.
