Defeat of anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican candidate Tyler Kistner is a win for Minnesotans and reproductive freedom
Minnesota — On Tuesday, voters in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District reelected NARAL-endorsed incumbent Angie Craig to the U.S. House of Representatives. Her victory over anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican candidate Tyler Kistner marks a huge win for reproductive freedom and protects a critical seat in the House.
In response to Craig’s victory, NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue released the following statement:
“During her time in the U.S. House of Representatives, Representative Angie Craig has fought for reproductive freedom time and again. Rep. Craig earned a 100% from NARAL on its Congressional Record on Choice. We are thankful to have Rep. Craig with us in the fight for our fundamental rights and look forward to continuing our work together to protect and expand reproductive freedom.”
NARAL reached over 3 million voters in key states, including Minnesota, through its historic 2020 electoral program.
NARAL held fireside chats, meet-and-greet events, phone banks, and postcard-writing parties for these candidates as well as Minnesota candidates for the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. NARAL’s Minnesota electoral program included NARAL staff and volunteers making 25,000 calls to voters. NARAL also held 15 events, activating 200 volunteers who not only made tens of thousands of calls, but also sent 56,000 text messages, and 5,700 postcards.
