Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates Victory as Virginia Voters Elect a Reproductive Freedom Majority in State Senate

Washington, DC —  Today, Virginians voted to preserve the reproductive freedom majority in the Virginia State Senate, electing Reproductive Freedom for All-endorsed incumbents Sens. Aaron Rouse, as well as Dels. Danica Roem, Schuyler VanValkenburg and Democratic candidate Russet Perry, a prosecutor and former CIA Officer. The Democratic state Senate majority has played a key role in defending abortion access against Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s extremist plans to sign a statewide ban.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“Our state Senate champions in Virginia have shown how critical it is to have a reproductive freedom majority by holding the line for abortion access, so it’s no surprise that voters delivered them a majority once again. With tonight’s victory, Virginians soundly rejected Gov. Glenn Youngkin and his allies’ push for an abortion ban, reaffirming that anti-abortion extremism has no place in the Commonwealth.”
