Abortion is a common part of reproductive health care. Yet politicians intentionally spread disinformation to stigmatize it.
Our electoral efforts connect voters with opportunities to make tangible change to help build a future where everyone is free to make their own decisions about their bodies, lives, and families.
We elect reproductive freedom champions from statehouses to the White House and protect and expand abortion rights and access through ballot measures.
Under a second Trump presidency, attacks on reproductive freedom have been relentless. But we’re tracking and fighting back against this extremist anti-abortion agenda.

Alaska—NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Dr. Alan Gross in his campaign to represent Alaska in the U.S. Senate. Gross is an orthopedic surgeon, commercial fisherman, and lifelong Alaskan seeking to win the seat currently held by anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican Senator Dan Sullivan.
“NARAL is proud to endorse Dr. Alan Gross, whose leadership and expertise is sorely needed in the Senate,” said NARAL Pro-Choice America President llyse Hogue. “As someone who has dedicated his career to serving his patients, Dr. Gross deeply understands that every person should be able to make their own personal decisions free from the interference of anti-choice, anti-freedom politicians like Dan Sullivan. With so much at stake in 2020 and the fate of Roe v. Wade in the crosshairs, Alaskans need leaders like Dr. Gross who share their values and can be trusted to stand strong in the face of relentless attacks on reproductive freedom.”
“As a doctor, I understand the personal and complicated nature of healthcare decisions. It is not the role of government to get between a woman and her doctor. Access to safe and legal abortion is an integral part of a woman’s right to make decisions for herself and her family,” Dr. Al Gross, Independent Candidate for U.S. Senate.”It is past time to pass legislation enshrining women’s reproductive rights into federal law. As Alaska’s next U.S. Senator, I pledge to advocate for a woman’s right to choose and ensure that all Alaskans have access to affordable healthcare. The feds must stay out of our way and let Alaskans choose.”
Dr. Al Gross has pledged to fight to expand access to affordable reproductive healthcare, including abortion care, for all Alaskans. Alaska currently has several abortion restrictions on the books, including restricting access to abortion for people with low incomes and subjecting people who seek abortion care to mandatory biased counseling.
Gross’ opponent, anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan, has earned a 0% score from NARAL in the Congressional Record on Choice. As Senator, Sullivan has voted to confirm dozens of anti-choice judges, including voting to advance the nomination of anti-choice extremist Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court — cementing a majority on the highest court in the land that is hostile to Roe v. Wade and emboldening anti-choice lawmakers across the nation to double down on their agenda of gutting or overturning Roe.
