NARAL Pro-Choice America Endorses Reproductive Freedom Champions Alan Cohn and Kara Eastman to Congress
NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of congressional candidates Alan Cohn (FL-15) and Kara Eastman (NE-02) ahead of the November general election. Both candidates are seeking to flip seats currently held by anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican members
“The stakes for reproductive freedom could not be higher in 2020. Radical Right politicians are determined to ban abortion and push access to reproductive healthcare as far out of reach as possible,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “NARAL is proud to endorse Alan Cohn and Kara Eastman, both of whom will be fierce advocates for reproductive freedom in Congress after they win against anti-choice, anti-freedom candidates who for too long have advanced an extreme and out-of-touch ideological agenda.”
Background on the candidates:
“Every year, Republicans in red states pass anti-abortion legislation that threatens to upend 50 years of Supreme Court precedent, strip away women’s bodily autonomy, and endanger women’s health. And every year we collectively hold our breaths as these new restrictions that deny women healthcare work their way through a rigged court system that Mitch McConnell stacked with mostly unqualified conservative judges. I’m so grateful to have the support of NARAL Pro-Choice America, because that has got to end. We all need to stand together and do everything we can to protect a woman’s right to choose and increase access to comprehensive healthcare,” said Alan Cohn.
“I am honored to be endorsed by NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC, especially now, when the rights of women to make informed health care choices with their doctors is under immediate threat,” said Kara Eastman. “In Congress I will stand with NARAL and pro-choice colleagues to ensure that the voices of a majority of Nebraskans in my district are heard in favor of reproductive freedom.

NARAL is powered by its more than 2.5 million members from every state and congressional district in the country, representing the 7 in 10 Americans who believe every person should have the freedom to make the best decision for themselves about if, when, and how to raise a family.
