NARAL Pro-Choice America Condemns Attacks on Reproductive Freedom in House Republicans’ Appropriations Bill
Washington, DC — Today, NARAL Pro-Choice America condemns the host of attacks on reproductive freedom found in Republicans’ appropriations bill for the Departments of Labor and Health and Human Services. The provisions in this anti-abortion legislation eliminate funding for the Title X Family Planning Program and the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, while also attempting to defund Planned Parenthood. The bill also contains harmful policy riders that seek to block access to abortion, including the discriminatory Hyde Amendment.
NARAL Pro-Choice America President Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“One year after the Dobbs decision, House Republicans’ attacks on reproductive freedom show no signs of slowing down. If a budget is a statement of values, these extremists have again shown just how out-of-step their agenda really is. We strongly condemn this dangerous appropriations bill and remain committed to exposing to American voters exactly what the GOP stands for.”
