What is Charley?

Charley is a private, secure, and anonymous chatbot that can provide accurate and up-to-date information for people seeking an abortion. It provides you with different abortion care options that are available and right for you, even if you live in a restricted state.

Where is Charley getting its information from?

Charley was co-created by leading reproductive rights organizations and collaborated with doctors, lawyers, partners and movement leaders, including INeedAnA.com, Plan C and the Miscarriage + Abortion Hotline.

The chatbot automatically pulls the latest information from various reliable databases on state abortion restrictions, nearby clinics, and abortion pill options. All the information shared by Charley has been vetted by experienced reproductive health experts, doctors, and lawyers to ensure accuracy.

How can I be sure it’s a secure chat?

Charley will never ask your name, age, email, phone number, or any other identifying data and will never share any data with third parties.

The chatbot will only ask for your city and state or zip code and the date of your last period to help provide accurate, local information to you. That’s it. It will never share your information with anyone, including law enforcement, your parents, your health provider—No one.
Plus, Charley deletes all the information it receives on a regular basis.

Users should feel safe using Charley, but if you’re concerned about your browning privacy, we encourage you to practice private browser habits i.e. using “incognito” mode or removing the page from your browser history.
