NARAL Pro-Choice America Condemns GOP Push for Anti-Abortion Extremism at Expense of National Security
Washington, DC — Today, NARAL Pro-Choice America condemns the House GOP’s fervent push for anti-abortion extremism at the expense of our servicemembers, communities of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and national security at large. From blocking military personnel’s travel out of state for abortion care to denying gender-affirming care to transgender troops, Republicans in Congress continue pushing their racist, sexist, and anti-LGBTQIA+ agenda, no matter the cost to our health, well-being, and freedom.
NARAL Pro-Choice America President Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Today, extremist Republicans hijacked a bipartisan national security bill to get one step closer to a national ban on abortion. If there’s one thing we can count on, it’s that Republicans won’t stop these relentless attacks on our freedom. But voters across the country are just as determined to hold these extremists accountable come 2024. We’re grateful to House Democrats for fighting back against these attacks.”
