Aisha Becker-Burrowes, Co-Founder & Co-Executive Director, FEMINIST

Aisha Becker-Burrowes

she/her

Co-Founder & Co-Executive Director, FEMINIST

Aisha Becker-Burrowes is a social entrepreneur and impact consultant working at the intersections of media, communications, and social change, with a particular emphasis on racial equity and gender justice. She founded Studio Watts, a social impact agency and creative collective made up of radical communicators, mission-driven storytellers, and purpose-fueled creatives. She is also the co-founder and co-executive director of FEMINIST, the largest social-first non-profit media company dedicated to empowering women, girls, and gender-expansive people with a global audience of over 6M+.

A values-driven entrepreneur, Aisha has worked at some of the world’s leading media companies, including Netflix, ViacomCBS, and ESSENCE Magazine, using her platform to empower audiences and inspire action on urgent social issues. Her ability to connect brands, creators, activists, academics, and nonprofits has made her a trusted leader in driving meaningful collaborations that bridge sectors and fuel lasting impact.

Aisha’s expertise is anchored by her academic background, holding a master’s degree in Media, Culture, and Communications from New York University. There, she explored the transformative power of social media in global movements and its influence on visual culture. This academic foundation serves as the bedrock of her work, enabling her to navigate the ever-evolving media and social impact landscape.

Danielle Moodie, Political Podcaster, Cultural Commentator

Danielle Moodie

she/her

Political Podcaster, Cultural Commentator

For well over a decade, Danielle Moodie has been a bold and unapologetic voice for justice. Known for her no-holds-barred commentary, she is a sought after voice in the cable news and the social media spheres, ever since her viral 2016 election night CBC News appearance where she referred to the election of Donald Trump as “white supremacy’s last stand”.

As Danielle seeks to navigate our ever changing global landscape and imagine new worlds, her voice and message has begun to shift from righteous rage to expansionism and love. This new paradigm serves as forms of resistance and a broader platform to provoke new kinds of thinking. This is one of the many themes that she will be exploring in her forthcoming book, which is currently in development.

Over the last several years Danielle has increased her media footprint with three podcasts, reaching 500k listeners; her flagship series Heart Media’s #WokeAF Daily; The Daily Beast’s The New Abnormal that she co-hosts with fellow journalist Andy Levy and #democracyish which she co-hosts weekly with fellow Daily Beast columnist and author Wajahat Ali. She also writes for a myriad of outlets including: The Daily Beast, Zora at Medium, Vogue, Essence and others.

Board Chair, Reproductive Freedom for All

Kimberly Peeler-Allen has been working at the intersection of race, gender and politics for over 20 years.

Kimberly is currently a Visiting Practitioner at the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University where she serves as an advisor on CAWP’s ongoing research and election analysis, and guest lectures in various graduate and undergraduate courses.

Inspired by the words of the late Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair,” Kimberly is driven to shift the paradigm for the civic voice of Black women. Over the course of her career Kimberly has advised elected officials, candidates and organizations on fundraising, political strategy and coalition building to ensure that there are more diverse voices around decision making tables whether they are in elected bodies or civil society.

Kimberly serves as Board Chair of Reproductive Freedom for All, Co-Chair of Higher Heights for America PAC, and is a board member of ActBlue, the Fund for Women’s Equity, and the ERA Coalition.
