Organization Background

Reproductive Freedom for All fights for reproductive freedom for every person in every state. We organize and mobilize to ensure everybody has access to abortion care, birth control, paid family and sick leave, and pregnancy discrimination protections.

Project Overview

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (“RFP”) is to identify a communications consultant for Nevada to support a bold, creative communications strategy that elevates Reproductive Freedom for All’s campaigns, programs, and long-term vision across Nevada. This person will lead a sophisticated rapid response operation, create press plans, build events, pitch stories, and serve as an on-the-record spokesperson for the Nevada organization.

We are aiming to bring on a consultant by June 1, 2026. The consultant will work primarily with the Director of Nevada Campaigns and the national communications team.

Consultants Should Have:

  • At least 5 years of campaign or political communications experience
  • Existing relationships with in-state reporters and demonstrated on-the-record experience
  • Proficiency with both traditional and new/emerging media
  • Working familiarity with media databases like Cision and Meltwater
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit high-quality material quickly and persuasively for wide variety of press materials
  • A demonstrated deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of leadership and decision-making.
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and multiple organizations while managing rapid response in a fast-paced work environment
  • Collaborative approach to achieving goals and demonstrated success with a cooperative method s
  • Demonstrated commitment to Reproductive Freedom for All’s goal of ensuring every person is able to make their own decisions about pregnancy and safeguarding reproductive freedom

Budget Details

The Consultant will receive between $3,000-$5,000 per month, commensurate with experience. The contract will run through 11/15/2026.

Your Experience and Approach 

  • Describe your experience leading a sophisticated rapid response operation, creating press plans, building events, and pitching stories in Nevada. Please specifically address your experience with:
    • Pitching and booking state and national press hits
    • Creating comprehensive press plans
    • Writing and editing various communications materials, including but not limited to narrative-shaping press memos, rapid response statements and releases, speeches, internal and external message guidance, and internal prep memos.
    • Working with top-tier reporters, thought leaders and members of the media who reflect the organization’s values, including prioritizing emerging media outlets that serve diverse, underrepresented, and low-income communities to ensure the voices most impacted by reproductive restrictions are centered in public narratives and advocacy efforts;
  • Please describe your approach to collaboration with clients
  • Describe your experience working with national communications staff members to develop and implement communications strategies for state based work
  • Describe your experience working in/alongside a campaign or in an election cycle
