NARAL Pro-Choice America today endorsed U.S. Senator Cory Booker in his campaign for re-election to represent New Jersey.
“Senator Booker’s commitment to women, families, and reproductive freedom is absolute,” said NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue. “He has always centered abortion access as an issue of fundamental rights and freedom for women, whether on the presidential campaign trail or in the Senate. He’s outspoken and creative, and we are thrilled to lift up his bold leadership and vision in the quest to expand and protect our fundamental freedoms. As the Trump administration and anti-choice politicians across the country lay siege to our reproductive rights, we know we can count on Sen. Booker to fight back against these extreme attacks. We are grateful for his work and are proud to support his campaign for re-election.”
“I am proud to receive the endorsement from my friends at NARAL, who have been on the front lines defending against the Trump administration’s attacks on women’s reproductive rights and access to abortion,” said Senator Booker. “Throughout my career I have been committed to affirmatively advancing reproductive rights and expanding access to reproductive care for all, and NARAL has always been an unwavering leader and ally in that fight.”
Cory Booker has represented New Jersey in the U.S. Senate since 2013. Booker has been a vocal supporter of reproductive freedom and part of NARAL Pro-Choice America’s Men for Choice program, including joining NARAL’s 2017 #MenforChoice event as its honorary guest. He has consistently earned a 100% score from NARAL in the Congressional Record on Choice. As a Democratic presidential contender, Booker proposed creating a White House Office of Reproductive Freedom, helping to elevate reproductive freedom as a key issue in the 2020 race.
