NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Christina Hale in her campaign to represent Indiana’s 5th Congressional District. Hale formerly served as a state representative for Indiana’s 87th legislative district and is now seeking to win the open race seat in central Indiana.
“NARAL is proud to endorse Christina Hale, who has a proven record of fighting tirelessly for women and families,” said Ilyse Hogue, President of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “Hoosiers deserve a leader who will fight to protect their fundamental freedom to make personal decisions about pregnancy, with the support of those they love and trust, and free from interference from politicians. We’re confident that Christina is the best candidate to take on this fight and look forward to sending another fierce advocate for reproductive freedom to Congress.”
“I’m honored to earn the endorsement of NARAL,” said Hale. “Having raised a son as a single mother, I know just how important access to health care and reproductive freedom are to women and the success of their families. In Congress, I’ll continue the fight for our right to increased access to affordable health care for all Hoosier families.”
Hale was first elected to the Indiana House of Representatives in 2012, where she served for two terms. As a Cuban-American, Hale gave a new voice to Hoosiers in Indianapolis. She most recently served as executive director of International Youth Programs at Kiwanis International, where she led programs locally and globally to improve the lives of children by expanding access to healthcare, education, and leadership opportunities.
