On Roe v. Wade Anniversary, Reproductive Freedom for All Endorses Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs for Reelection
Washington, DC — Today, on the anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, Reproductive Freedom for All is endorsing Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs in her reelection bid.
Governor Hobbs has been a vocal advocate and steadfast champion for reproductive freedom—signing the repeal of Arizona’s 1864 abortion ban, vetoing harmful anti-abortion legislation, and supporting Prop 139 to enshrine Arizonans’ right to abortion in the state constitution. In stark contrast, all candidates vying to be Hobbs’ Republican challenger—Andy Biggs, David Schweikert, and Karrin Taylor Robson—have extreme anti-abortion records. Any one of them would take Arizona backward by undermining the will of voters who have made it clear they want their elected officials out of doctors’ offices. In fact, 9 in 10 Arizonans support a legal right to abortion.
To mark this endorsement, Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju is joining Governor Hobbs in Phoenix today for a conversation moderated by Arizona Director and former state legislator Athena Salman about the importance of electing reproductive freedom champions and what’s at stake for Arizonans’ abortion access and fundamental rights in 2026.
Reproductive Freedom for All, President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Governor Katie Hobbs is a proven fighter for reproductive freedom in Arizona. As Trump and Republicans continue their crusade to gut health care and ban abortion nationwide, Arizonans need a governor who will hold the line and defend their freedoms without hesitation. Katie Hobbs is that governor, and Reproductive Freedom for All is proud to endorse her for reelection.”
Reproductive Freedom for All Director of Arizona Campaigns Athena Salman released the following statement:
“No governor in Arizona history has done more to defend reproductive freedom than Governor Katie Hobbs. She has proven that she will use every tool of her office—including the veto pen—to protect our health and freedoms, while her opponents have doubled down on a dangerous, out-of-touch anti-abortion agenda. With nothing short of our lives and futures on the line, Arizonans can’t afford to lose Governor Hobbs’ frontline leadership. Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona will mobilize our 94,000 members and work tirelessly to ensure she is reelected.”
Governor Katie Hobbs released the following statement:
“I am proud to earn the endorsement of Reproductive Freedom for All, an organization working every day to ensure that decisions about birth control, abortion, and starting a family remain with individuals—not out-of-touch politicians. From day one, I’ve fought to protect reproductive freedom by repealing Arizona’s 1864 total abortion ban, removing barriers to over-the-counter contraception, and helping enshrine the freedom to choose in our state constitution. I will always defend Arizonans’ freedom to make their own healthcare decisions.”
State governors are the frontline defense for reproductive freedom and play a critical role in protecting abortion access across the country. In 2025, Reproductive Freedom for All endorsed Aaron Ford for governor in Nevada and launched its first slate of endorsements in the 2026 cycle, backing candidates who will protect reproductive freedom in Congress, statehouses, and governors’ offices nationwide.
