Reproductive Freedom for All Calls Out Brad Schimel’s Lies In Abortion Ad

Washington, DC — Yesterday evening, Brad Schimel’s campaign for the Wisconsin Supreme Court released an ad trying to hide his long and extreme anti-abortion record in order to deceive voters. This is a last-ditch campaign effort to erase Schimel’s long history of work against reproductive rights and the support his campaign has garnered from the leadership of Pro-Life Wisconsin, a group that opposes all abortion. At an event in Appleton in May of last year, Schimel openly described himself as “firmly pro-life” and has publicly supported Wisconsin’s cruel and outdated 1849 abortion ban. Reproductive Freedom for All has endorsed Schimel’s opponent, Judge Susan Crawford.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“Brad Schimel knows Wisconsin voters support reproductive freedom, so he is lying to hide his documented work trying to ban abortion because he knows it’s unpopular. If Judge Schimel wins this race, he would put his extremist agenda into play and rule to block abortion access statewide. We can’t allow it, and that’s why we are proud to back Judge Susan Crawford in this race.”
