Reproductive Freedom for All Condemns Trump Administration’s Latest Baseless Attack on Planned Parenthood

Washington, DC — Yesterday, the Trump administration announced that the Small Business Administration is targeting Planned Parenthood organizations that lawfully received Paycheck Protection Program loans during the COVID-19 pandemic. The announcement was one in a coordinated series of escalating attacks on reproductive freedom timed to the anti-abortion movement’s annual “March for Life” convening in Washington, DC today, where President JD Vance, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and other anti-abortion officials touted these actions from the podium.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“Americans are suffering under Trump’s failed leadership, and instead of focusing on real solutions, he’s launched yet another transparently political attack against Planned Parenthood. This baseless intimidation tactic is the latest attempt—recycled from Trump’s first term—to shut down more health centers and deny millions of people the care they need, including abortion. Planned Parenthood followed the law, and this has nothing to do with affiliates’ eligibility for COVID-19 relief efforts and everything to do with abusing government power to punish a trusted health care provider that anti-abortion extremists have targeted for decades. Trump and his allies are desperate to appease these fringe extremists, and they’re willing to sacrifice people’s health and lives to do so. Voters will remember that in November.”
