Reproductive Freedom for All Endorses in Kentucky and Mississippi Attorney General Races
Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All announced its endorsement of Colonel Pam Stevenson for Kentucky attorney general and Greta Kemp Martin for Mississippi attorney general. Ensuring that reproductive freedom champions are elected to attorneys general offices is crucial to protecting abortion rights and access across the country. Both Mississippi and Kentucky have enforced abortion bans, despite the fact that Kentucky voters overwhelmingly rejected a proposal to amend the state constitution to ban abortion last fall.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“We need champions in attorneys general offices who will tirelessly fight to expand and preserve reproductive freedom throughout the country. Colonel Pam Stevenson and Greta Kemp Martin are committed to fighting for abortion access, and we are honored to endorse them and fight shoulder-to-shoulder for our most fundamental rights. ”
Colonel Pam Stevenson released the following statement:
“Today, more than ever before, it is imperative that women are able to make their own decisions about their healthcare. I will always protect a woman’s right to choose, and as Kentucky’s next Attorney General, I will use the bully pulpit of my office to defend the rights of patients and doctors.”
Greta Kemp Martin released the following statement:
“I proudly stand with Reproductive Freedom for All, and I am honored to receive their endorsement. Since Day 1 of this campaign, I have made it clear that I support all Mississippians having full access to their healthcare freedoms. For months, we have seen startling statistics and horrifying stories of what happens to women and girls who lose that freedom in Mississippi. Most recently, my opponent has led an effort to access private medical records in her quest to further control women and continue to infringe on our healthcare freedoms. The entire country is watching Mississippi, and I am grateful organizations like Reproductive Freedom for All understand the significance and harm these policies cause.”
