Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Outcome of MO-01’s Democratic Primary
Washington, DC — Today, reproductive freedom champion Rep. Cori Bush lost her bid to become the Democratic nominee for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“We are grateful to Rep. Cori Bush for her dedication to Missouri families and the courage she showed every time she walked into the halls of Congress. She made history by being the first Black woman to represent the state of Missouri in Congress, and the first woman to represent Missouri’s 1st Congressional District. She was relentless in her advocacy for reproductive freedom, bravely sharing her own abortion story as she championed access. While we had hoped for a different outcome, we remain committed to fighting side by side with Missourians to advance our fundamental rights and freedoms.”
