Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Election Outcome in U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, DC — Today, Republicans secured a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives giving the Republicans an anti-abortion trifecta.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“This result is a painful setback, but we know that the American people overwhelmingly support reproductive freedom and that support made a difference in key races nationwide. Let’s face it: the Republican majority in the House will be very slim (and getting slimmer with every U.S. House member Trump appoints in his new administration), and we intend on holding every single Republican accountable to their campaign promises not to ban abortion nationwide or roll back access to contraception and IVF. We’re grateful to Leader Jeffries and our champions in the House for fighting by our side to protect reproductive freedom, and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the days ahead to hold the line against the GOP’s attacks on our rights.”
