Reproductive Freedom for All California Launches Campaign to Mobilize Voters Around Redistricting Ballot Initiative
Sacramento, CA — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All California announced a new campaign to educate voters on redistricting efforts and mobilize them to turn out for Prop 50 in California’s November special election.
Prop 50, a ballot initiative to approve a new congressional map, aims to neutralize Texas’ redistricting efforts by redrawing maps in California to recapture five seats in districts that favor Democratic candidates.
Reproductive Freedom for All Vice President of Organizing and Campaigns David Berrios released the following statement:
“We need all hands on deck to pass Prop 50 and offset Trump and Gov. Abbott’s blatant power grab in Texas. This is bigger than just one election. This is about maintaining democracy and fairness in future elections and holding Republicans accountable for thinking they’re above the rules.”
Reproductive Freedom for All California’s new campaign will reach both Californians and voters across the country through on-the-ground and digital organizing actions including canvasses, phone banks, text banks, and rallies, with a goal of making more than 100,000 direct voter contact attempts. Reproductive Freedom for All California will also host a series of trainings to outline the stakes of the November election and encourage our more than 400,000 members to submit letters to the editor in favor of Prop 50, mobilize their online communities, and more.
