Reproductive Freedom for All Endorses Rep. Mikie Sherrill for New Jersey Governor
Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All announced its endorsement of Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill in her bid for New Jersey governor. Since the fall of Roe, abortion access has been decimated across the country. Electing Democratic governors has become a major priority, as they are the ones making sure abortion access in their states is protected for everyone who needs the care.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“New Jersey deserves a governor who will stand up for and fight for their reproductive freedom and rights, and that’s Mikie Sherrill. The Trump administration and GOP-led states will stop at nothing to attack our rights to healthcare — even in states where abortion care is protected. That’s why we are supporting Mikie Sherrill, who has a proven track record of fighting for her state and will continue doing so as a future Governor.”
U.S. Representative Mikie Sherrill released the following statement:
“Donald Trump told us all we need to know about Jack Ciattarelli: He’s 100% MAGA and all in on Trump’s agenda to roll back reproductive rights. Ciattarelli will defund Planned Parenthood and implement an abortion ban and, just like Trump, he’ll nominate extreme, right-wing judges to the state Supreme Court. I’m a Navy veteran committed to defending our rights and freedoms in New Jersey by enshrining the right to an abortion in our state constitution, stockpiling the abortion pill mifepristone, and strengthening state shield laws for our healthcare providers. There’s a lot at stake in this election, and I’m proud to have Reproductive Freedom for All’s support as we work to defeat the Trump/Ciattarelli MAGA agenda.”
Sherrill’s opponent, Jack Ciattarelli, has an extreme anti-abortion record, including advocating for strict abortion bans, voting to defund Planned Parenthood, refusing to support the Reproductive Freedom Act, praising the Supreme Court appointees that overturned Roe v. Wade and committing to appoint conservatives justices to the State Supreme Court if elected.
Earlier this year, Reproductive Freedom for All endorsed Abigail Spanberger for Governor, and launched its first slate of endorsements in the 2026 cycle, backing frontline candidates who will be vital to protecting and retaining a strong presence of reproductive freedom champions in Congress.
