The 2016 election was what pushed me to activism and my volunteering with groups like Reproductive Freedom for All is what built me up to become an organizer. Movement work is spearheaded by organizers and it’s our work that will ensure lasting change happens. Knowing this, and having the opportunity to work with my volunteers, keeps me motivated in the work every day.
Connection is key to building trust and a solid foundation with our community. I spend a lot of my time getting to know our volunteers as people—so much so that I listen to the classes they are taking and what schoolwork is causing them trouble.
I listen to their woes, and their fears, and I validate but also work to provide insight and hope. Trust is built with work, and I like to say I put the work in every day.
Mistakes are okay! My favorite memories in organizing are the mistakes I made along the way because they become fun stories to share later on.
Sometimes, they are based on trauma; sometimes, they are just funny times to look back on, but they teach you so much.
My favorite story I like to share is a mistake I made early, early on in my organizing. I was driving a gubernatorial candidate to a fundraiser, and we got stuck in the desert because my car ran out of gas halfway there! To this day, the candidate and I look back on this “journey” with a light heart, and I look back happy to know how far I’ve come since then.

I am so excited to mobilize young voters to take action on their campuses. 2018 still holds the record as the highest youth turnout for an election—let alone a midterm—and I am ready to bring that same energy and more into 2026.
Young voters are the voters of today, and it’s a privilege to be working with them. This year is the year to get voters registered, out to vote in states that are having elections, and prepare for the midterms coming up in 2026.
I’m a cake decorator! I don’t sell and I only take commissions from people I like, but I LOVE baking and decorating gourmet cakes. The funniest part? I don’t even like cake!!
