ICYMI: Mini Timmaraju Joins On the Line with Alicia Menendez to Discuss Growing Anti-Abortion Extremism
This week, Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju joined On the Line with Alicia Menendez on MS Now to discuss the escalating attacks on reproductive freedom four years after the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. As anti-abortion extremists continue targeting abortion access through the courts, federal agencies, and state legislatures, Timmaraju explained why the latest attacks from anti-abortion Republicans are a sign of growing desperation, not strength.
During the conversation, Timmaraju highlighted how anti-abortion politicians and activists have continued pushing restrictions despite voters repeatedly rejecting abortion extremism at the ballot box. “Anti-abortion extremists are getting more and more desperate,” Timmaraju said, pointing to ongoing efforts to restrict medication abortion and advance policies that move the country closer to a national abortion ban despite broad public support for reproductive freedom.
Timmaraju also emphasized that these attacks are increasingly out of step with voters. Four years after Dobbs, Americans continue to support abortion access across party lines, and election after election, voters have made clear that they oppose political interference in personal medical decisions.
The conversation underscored that four years after Dobbs, the fight for reproductive freedom is far from over. Republican politicians were never going to stop at Dobbs. They continue to escalate attacks on abortion access while trying to hide their anti-abortion records ahead of the midterms, because they know abortion will be a driving factor for voters. From medication abortion to emergency care, the stakes remain incredibly high for people across the country. As voters head toward another critical election cycle, they deserve to know who is responsible for these attacks and who is fighting to protect their freedoms.
