ICYMI: On Fourth Anniversary of Dobbs, Reproductive Freedom for All Highlights State of Abortion Access with Special Podcast Episode Featuring Ayanna Pressley
On the fourth anniversary of the Dobbs decision, Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju sat down with Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), co-chair of the Congressional Reproductive Freedom Caucus, for a special episode of My Body. My Pod. to discuss where the reproductive freedom movement stands four years after Roe was struck down, access to contraception and health care, and why the fight for reproductive freedom demands both urgency and hope.
Four years after Dobbs, Trump, his administration, and anti-abortion extremists have made clear they were never going to leave abortion “to the states.” They continue targeting medication abortion, IVF, and contraception while advancing an agenda designed to move the country closer to a national abortion ban. Trump is using every angle he can, through the courts, Congress, and federal agencies, to push an extreme agenda.
At a time when it’s easy to feel defeated or helpless, Pressley offers a different path forward: choosing hope over cynicism, organizing over despair, and refusing to give up on a more just future. “Because who wins determines the policies—and the policies determine who lives, who dies, who survives, and who thrives,” Pressley noted. Reproductive freedom is inseparable from democracy, economic security, gender equality, and bodily autonomy, which is why this conversation isn’t just about reflection—it’s about action.
At the end of the episode, Timmaraju announced Reproductive Freedom for All’s largest-ever midterm program, My Body. My Ballot., a nationwide effort to harness the power of the organization’s 4.5 million members and the 8 in 10 Americans who support legal abortion. Election after election, voters have shown that they support reproductive freedom. In 2025, abortion won big when it was on the ballot. The challenge now is channeling that overwhelming public support into political power.
Through My Body. My Ballot., Reproductive Freedom for All will hold anti-abortion politicians accountable at the ballot box and elect reproductive freedom champions in key races across the country—transforming public support into organizing power, political action, and electoral victories. As Congresswoman Pressley says, we should embrace “the discipline of hope,” and continue fighting for a future where everybody can make their own decisions about their bodies, lives, and families.
