Interview with NARAL President Mini Timmaraju for AANHPI Heritage Month

NARAL Pro-Choice America President Mini Timmaraju took the helm of the organization just one month before the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization—the case that would overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling. In the time since, she has led the charge to strengthen and reimagine the organization from the ground up as the movement faces a new frontier in the fight for reproductive freedom.

This AANHPI Heritage Month, NARAL’s Sahiba Kaur sat down with Mini—the first woman of color and Indian-American to lead the organization—to delve into how the end of Roe v. Wade has impacted AANHPI communities nationwide, her personal journey to discover her calling in the reproductive freedom movement as an Indian-American, the ongoing struggles AANHPIs encounter accessing abortion care, the key role of Asian American voters in elections, and more.
