NARAL Pro-Choice America Celebrates 13th Anniversary of the Affordable Care Act
Washington, DC — Today marks the 13th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) being signed into law by former U.S. President Barack Obama.
NARAL Pro-Choice America President Mini Timmaraju released the following statement in response:
“Thirteen years ago, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law, giving millions of people across the country access to health care coverage—including coverage for pre-existing conditions and birth control without copays. Today, countless people and their families continue to benefit from this landmark law and the freedom it gives them to make their own decisions about their families and futures. We believe, as do 8 in 10 Americans, that freedom is for everybody, and we are proud to continue our work alongside our allies and partners to ensure reproductive freedom for all.”
