NARAL Pro-Choice America Condemns Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin’s Call for Abortion Ban

Virginia — Yesterday, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) reiterated his support for a 15-week abortion ban in his State of the Commonwealth address. Republicans in the state recently introduced such a ban on the first day of the General Assembly session.
NARAL Pro-Choice America President Mini Timmaraju released the following statement in response:
“Gov. Youngkin should be ashamed of himself. His abortion ban would harm millions of Virginians who would no longer be free to make decisions about their lives and families. It’s clear that Gov. Youngkin and his administration have no regard for the values and well-being of Virginians—the vast majority of whom do not want their freedom taken away. Voters are just as angry today as they were in November. Youngkin would do well to remember that. ”
