NARAL Pro-Choice America Denounces Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for Signing Abortion Ban into Law

Des Moines, IA — Today, extremist Governor Kim Reynolds signed Iowa Republicans’ ban on abortion at just six weeks, which is before many people even know they are pregnant, into law. Despite the fact that the majority of Iowans support the right to abortion, this bill is expected to take effect immediately. Iowa now joins the 20 other states that have eliminated or restricted access because of abortion bans.
NARAL Pro-Choice America President Mini Timmaraju released the following statement in response:
“Governor Reynolds and anti-abortion Republicans have shamelessly leveraged the lives and welfare of Iowans in their pursuit of an extremist and out-of-touch agenda. We have one thing to say to them: We’ll see you at the ballot box. ”
