Press Release
Washington, DC — Today, as NARAL Pro-Choice America rallies for reproductive freedom alongside partners with Vice President Kamala Harris, anti-choice politician Nikki Haley delivered a speech at the headquarters of “Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America,” an organization which demands a national abortion ban from all 2024 GOP presidential contenders. As South Carolina’s governor, Haley signed a host of bills to restrict reproductive freedom into law, including an extreme abortion ban that allowed for jailing providers.
NARAL Pro-Choice America Vice President of Communications and Research Angela Vasquez-Giroux released the following statement in response:
“The GOP doesn’t have a messaging problem on abortion—it has a policy problem. Nikki Haley is yet another anti-choice wolf in sheep’s clothing, and the American people aren’t buying what she’s selling. While Haley tied herself into knots while “courting moderates” at the headquarters of an anti-choice extremist organization, the reality is that the policy she would enact as president is as dangerous as it is unpopular. As we rally today alongside Vice President Harris, the contrast could not be more clear.”
