NARAL Pro-Choice Georgia is Now Reproductive Freedom for All Georgia
Atlanta, GA — Today, NARAL Pro-Choice Georgia is charting a new path forward as Reproductive Freedom for All Georgia after years of unwavering dedication at the forefront of the fight for abortion rights. As we embark on this exciting new chapter, our core mission remains steadfast—continuing to resolutely fight for the reproductive freedom of all Georgians while honoring the legacy that NARAL Pro-Choice Georgia and its 83,000 members have cultivated.
Reproductive Freedom for All Southeast Campaigns Director Alicia Stallworth released the following statement:
“We’ve been honored to work alongside our partners in the state and our more than 83,000 members to protect abortion rights and access since NARAL Pro-Choice Georgia launched six years ago. Today, as our state grapples daily with the devastating harm caused by the GOP’s abortion ban, we’re recommitting to our mission. As we turn the page to our next chapter as Reproductive Freedom for All Georgia, our vision is clear, and our commitment is unwavering: we will not stop until every Georgian has the freedom to make their own decisions about their lives, bodies, and futures.”
This announcement coincides with NARAL Pro-Choice America becoming Reproductive Freedom for All. It comes after a vote from our organization’s membership and after years of NARAL research and discussions with folks in communities across the country found that people think of abortion rights and access as a matter of freedom. Our research shows that reproductive freedom is a core value for people across the country—across religion, race, and age. While our name and look have changed, our mission remains the same, fighting for a world where reproductive freedom is a reality for everybody.
Listening to state leaders and recognizing the power and necessity of real on-the-ground investments, our organization launched its Georgia chapter in 2017 to help build the progressive momentum and infrastructure necessary to make Georgia a key battleground state. NARAL Pro-Choice Georgia (now Reproductive Freedom for All Georgia) spent years following the leadership of and working alongside other in-state groups to lay the foundation to help flip Georgia blue, mobilizing tens of thousands of voters to turn out for reproductive freedom candidates in the 2020 and 2022 elections.
