Nevada — Yesterday, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford joined Caroline Mello Roberson, NARAL Pro-Choice America Southwest Regional Director, for a discussion on how Nevada is playing a critical role in providing abortion care for people in neighboring states, steps AG Ford is taking to protect Nevadans’ reproductive freedom, and the wins in improving and defending access to care in Nevada.
Watch a recording of the press conference here.
“The Dobbs decision is one of the most disturbing and dangerous legal decisions that I’ve seen in my lifetime. For as long as Roe v. Wade stood as precedent, generations of people have been able to access safe and legal medical care and make decisions about their bodies and their future. My office has joined the subsequent challenges to the Dobbs decision. We’ve fought against companies attempting to deny coverage for reproductive care, not to mention the litigation involving mifepristone. From the grassroots movements to the state houses, we have to be vigilant, continue fighting, and never become complacent. I am grateful to have the partnership of NARAL and others in this fight.” –Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford
“As one of the few places in the nation with voter-affirmed right to abortion, Nevada has served as a powerful example of the impact that our voices and our votes can have in protecting fundamental freedoms. Nevada has taken steps to protect providers and those traveling from out of state seeking an abortion. NARAL Pro-Choice Nevada, our 48,000 members, and partners have also led the charge in enshrining the right to reproductive freedom in Nevada’s constitution. We will never stop fighting for a world where all of us, no matter who we are or where we live, have the freedom to make our own decisions about our families and our futures.” –NARAL Pro-Choice America Southwest Regional Director Caroline Mello Roberson
For over 50 years, NARAL Pro-Choice America has fought to protect and advance reproductive freedom at the federal and state levels—including access to abortion care, birth control, pregnancy and post-partum care, and paid family leave—for everybody. NARAL is powered by its 4 million members from every state and congressional district in the country, representing the 8 in 10 Americans who support legal abortion.
