Planned Parenthood PA PAC and Reproductive Freedom for All Endorse Three Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Justices for Retention
Harrisburg, PA — Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania PAC and Reproductive Freedom for All today announced their endorsements of the three Supreme Court of Pennsylvania (SCOPA) justices standing for retention in the 2025 General Election.
These justices have proven themselves to be fair arbiters who uphold the rights and freedoms of Pennsylvanians — including reproductive health care, Medicaid access, voting rights, and civil rights.
“State Supreme courts are the last line of defense to protect our access to reproductive freedom,” said CEO and President of Reproductive Freedom for All, Mini Timmaraju. “As the Trump administration continues to rip away our access to abortion and basic reproductive care, keeping these justices on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court will be imperative to our efforts to fight back against Trump and his anti-abortion allies. We’re excited to be supporting Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht with our partners at Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania PAC to secure this critical win for Pennsylvanians’ reproductive freedom.”
“Retention elections may not draw the same spotlight as other races, but the stakes could not be higher. With federal protections for abortion stripped away under Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, state-level courts now have the final say on whether Pennsylvanians can access abortion and other essential health care,” said Signe Espinoza, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates. “Losing even one retention race could shift the balance of the court and jeopardize reproductive freedom for millions.
“Reproductive rights are always on the ballot — whether it’s the legislature, your school board, or the highest court in our state,”continued Espinoza. “Pennsylvanians deserve justices who will uphold our fundamental rights, not roll them back. The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania is often the last line of defense for our freedoms, and we must protect it by voting YES to retain these justices.”
