Reproductive Freedom for All Applauds Governor Newsom’s Push for a Special Election to Redraw California Congressional Maps Amidst GOP Attacks on Voters
Washington, DC — Today, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he is calling on the state legislature to pass a bill that would create a special election to redraw California’s Congressional maps ahead of the 2026 midterms. These efforts are in direct response to Republican gerrymandering efforts in Texas, Ohio, and other states, and will empower California voters amid GOP actions to rig elections in their favor.
