Reproductive Freedom for All, Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy Launch Final Mailer in $160,000 Effort to Reelect Kathy Castor in Florida’s 14th Congressional District
Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All and the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy launched the final mailer in a $160,000 direct-mail program supporting Rep. Kathy Castor’s reelection in Florida’s 14th Congressional District. The program draws a clear contrast between Castor’s work to expand access to health care and her opponent Mike Beltran’s record—which includes writing legislation to ban abortion even in cases of rape or incest while serving in the Florida House.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Kathy Castor has spent nearly two decades in Congress pushing to lower health care costs and expand access to care for Tampa families. In the final days of this race, we’re mobilizing voters across the district to re-elect Kathy and make sure they know that a vote for Mike Beltran is a vote for a national abortion ban.”
Beltran was the only member of the Florida Legislature to vote against a 2024 package to expand access to health care—including for mothers and babies—and has since called for health care cuts that would raise insurance costs for Florida families.
The program’s three mailers, sent throughout the past week, are part of Reproductive Freedom for All’s historic $23.5 million My Body. My Ballot. midterm campaign.
All three mailers can be viewed here, here and here.
