Reproductive Freedom for All Condemns Final Passage of Extreme GOP Budget Bill
Washington, DC — Today, the U.S. House of Representatives once again voted to pass the GOP’s extreme budget bill, cementing severe cuts to Medicaid and a backdoor ban on abortion by defunding Planned Parenthood. The passage of this extreme budget will leave 16 million people without health care coverage.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement in response:
“The final passage of this bill is a complete and utter failure on the part of Republican politicians, and a betrayal of the people who elected them in the first place. House Republicans had multiple chances to stop this bill. Instead, they doubled down on a budget that will defund Planned Parenthood, rip health care away from millions of people, and cause immeasurable harm.
This bill is a backdoor abortion ban, and now Americans will pay the price. We will fight back and hold Republicans in Congress accountable.”
