Reproductive Freedom for All Announces Launch of My Body. My Pod. — A New Series with Mini Timmaraju
Formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America
Press Release
Phoenix, AZ — Last week, Speaker Mike Johnson announced that he will further delay the process to swear Adelita Grijalva into Congress until at least October 14th. In September, Grijalva won the special election for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District, and became the first Latina to represent Arizona in Congress. Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona members proudly worked to mobilize voters to secure Grijalva’s victory.
Reproductive Freedom for All Director of Arizona Campaigns Athena Salman released the following statement condemning Speaker Johnson’s decision:
“Adelita Grijalva won the special election in a landslide, yet Republican leadership is unilaterally denying the people of Arizona’s 7th District a voice in Congress by delaying her swearing in yet again. This is partisan politics in its most grotesque form. The GOP knows that Adelita will be another vote to hold Trump and the Republican majority in Congress accountable for shutting down the government instead of protecting health care for 360,000 Arizonans and restoring funding for Planned Parenthood nationwide.”
