Press Release
Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All announced its endorsement of JoAnna Mendoza in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District election. Mendoza is a veteran who has consistently been vocal about her support for abortion access, including the impact of Donald Trump’s attacks on abortion for military families.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“We are excited to endorse JoAnna Mendoza to help flip the House in 2026. Donald Trump, Juan Ciscomani, and their MAGA allies are attacking abortion across the country, even in states like Arizona, where voters overwhelmingly affirmed their support for abortion last year by passing Prop 139. Arizonans deserve to have a representative who will fight for their values, and our members are ready to help send JoAnna to Congress to do just that.”
Mendoza is running against Representative Juan Ciscomani, who was a key vote to pass Trump’s Budget Bill that will gut healthcare for 360,000 Arizonans, and cost rural hospitals up to $1.2 billion in funding over the next 10 years. Ciscomani’s anti-abortion record includes voting in favor of interference in abortion practice, voting in favor of a resolution condemning violence against anti-abortion fake health centers, and voting in favor of the attack on Servicemembers’ access to abortion.
Earlier this year, Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona announced a 5-figure ad-buy calling on Juan Ciscomani to hold himself accountable for his vote supporting the GOP budget bill. In August, the organization gathered over 140 people for a picket outside the auto dealership of prominent GOP Donor, Jim Click, who has bankrolled many GOP campaigns, including Representative Ciscomani.
