Reproductive Freedom for All Georgia Condemns HB 267 as an Extreme Attack on Trans Youth and Bodily Autonomy
Atlanta, GA— Today, Reproductive Freedom for All Georgia strongly condemned House Bill 267, a harmful and politically motivated measure that would ban transgender students from using school facilities that align with their gender identity and prohibit trans girls from participating in sports. If passed, HB 267 sets a dangerous precedent for further government overreach that is designed to strip away personal freedom and bodily autonomy.
Alicia Stallworth, Georgia Campaigns Director for Reproductive Freedom for All, issued the following statement:
“HB 267 is a cruel and deliberate attack on trans youth, who deserve dignity, safety, and the freedom to be themselves. Georgia lawmakers should be working to protect all children, not targeting them with harmful legislation. The same political forces that have worked to restrict abortion access across Georgia and the nation are now targeting the transgender community.
The government has no business controlling people’s bodies or deciding who gets to exist in public spaces. As a reproductive freedom organization, we believe in the right of every person to make decisions about their body—free from shame, stigma, or political interference. We proudly stand with our LGBTQIA+ partners who are leading this fight, and we refuse to let this attack go unanswered.”
Every major medical organization, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Psychological Association, recognizes gender-affirming care as evidence-based and medically necessary.Attacks like HB 267 are not about protecting children—they are about control, discrimination, and fear-mongering that put lives at risk.
