Reproductive Freedom for All Launches Ad Buy Targeting Three Republican Congressmembers on the Energy and Commerce Committee Over Massive Medicaid Cuts
Washington, DC — Reproductive Freedom for All announced a new five-figure ad buy to target three Republican Members of Congress ahead of Tuesday’s budget markup. The ads will run in the following battleground districts: Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA,01), Congressman Tom Kean Jr. (NJ, 07) and Congressman Gabe Evans (CO, 08).Â
These ads highlight how Republicans’ slashing $880 billion from Medicaid could shut down health centers that provide essential care like cancer screenings, birth control, and more. Almost two-thirds of the 70 million people enrolled in Medicaid are adult women ages 19-44. These ads target women ages 20-55. The ads can be viewed here.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Now is the time to ramp up pressure on Republicans who will be responsible for gutting Medicaid and preventing people from being able to access health care. Medicaid cuts are extremely unpopular and Rep. Miller-Meeks, Rep. Kean Jr., and Rep. Evans would be going against the will of their constituents if they slash vital Medicaid funding. We’re making sure that the American people know who is responsible for taking away essential care like cancer screenings and birth control.”Â
