Reproductive Freedom for All, Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC and Vote Pro-Choice Launch Six-Figure Digital Ad Campaign Exposing Jason Miyares’ Dangerous Anti-Abortion Record
Richmond, VA — Ahead of tonight’s debate between Attorney General candidates Jay Jones and Jason Miyares, Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC, Vote Pro-Choice, and Reproductive Freedom for All announced the launch of a new six-figure digital ad campaign highlighting Miyares’ extreme record on reproductive rights and warning Virginians about the dangers of giving him a second term.
The “We Decide – Not Jason Miyares” ad will run statewide across major digital platforms through Election Day. It draws attention to Miyares’ years-long campaign to restrict access to abortion, defund Planned Parenthood, and side with extremist anti-abortion groups.
Mini Timmaraju, President of Reproductive Freedom for All, said:
“Virginia is the last abortion access point left in the South—and Jason Miyares is determined to take that away. He’s a Trump-backed, anti-abortion extremist who will work to ban abortion in Virginia if he is elected, and this election is a critical line of defense.
We’ll be on the ground across Virginia mobilizing voters leading up to Election Day. When abortion is on the ballot, abortion wins.”
Jamie Lockhart, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, said:
“With so much at stake for reproductive rights in Virginia, Virginians cannot afford another four years of Jason Miyares. His record is clear. He supported an abortion ban, fought to overturn Roe v. Wade, and aligned himself with anti-abortion extremists determined to take away our right to make personal health care decisions.
Virginians deserve leaders who will protect our freedom, not politicians who will take it away. As the Reproductive Freedom constitutional amendment moves through the process, we need an Attorney General who will uphold, not undermine, constitutional protections for abortion and contraception.”
Sara Tabatabaie, Executive Director of Vote Pro-Choice, said:
“Jason Miyares has a long record of opposing abortion rights. Virginians know that decisions about pregnancy are deeply personal and should remain between patients and healthcare providers — not politicians. Yet Miyares has described abortion as “sick and barbaric,” laid the groundwork to overturn Roe v. Wade, and endorsed abortion bans that would criminalize patients, doctors, and nurses.
Re-electing Jason Miyares would threaten Virginians’ access to safe, legal reproductive care and opens the door to criminal investigations into private medical decisions. Virginians deserve the freedom to make their own reproductive healthcare choices without fear of government interference.”
