Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Anti-abortion Extremists Once Again Going After Mifepristone to Ban Abortion Nationwide

Washington, DC — On Friday, Republican attorneys general from Kansas, Missouri, and Idaho filed an amended complaint in an ongoing case against the FDA seeking to block access to mifepristone nationwide. This is the latest effort by extremists to push a baseless case seeking to effectively block access to a medication that has been safely used for decades. The case will be heard by District Court Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk. Kacsmaryk is a Trump-appointed judge who just last year sided with anti-abortion extremists in their arguments to force the FDA to rescind approval and reinstate unnecessary restrictions on mifepristone.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“In an election where Americans have made it so clear where they are on abortion, these extremists continue to go against the will of the people. Whether through the Courts or the White House, MAGA Republicans are hell-bent on banning abortion. This is a five-alarm fire and we need to elect Kamala Harris as our next president and reproductive freedom majorities in the U.S. Congress to stop it.”
