Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Iowa Supreme Court’s Decision on Six-Week Abortion Ban

Washington, DC—Today, the Iowa Supreme Court let  the state’s six-week abortion ban go into effect while litigation regarding the ban continues.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju, released the following statement:

“Today’s ruling by the Iowa Supreme Court is a direct attack on the fundamental rights and freedoms of people in Iowa. We won’t sit back while our rights are taken away. This ruling underscores the urgent need for a federal abortion protection. Last night, Donald Trump bragged again about overturning Roe v. Wade, and this decision is exactly what he opened the door for. We must secure reproductive freedom majorities in Congress and send President Biden back to the White House so we can stop bans like this in their tracks.”
