Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Outcome of AZ-03’s Primary Election
Washington, DC — Today, reproductive freedom champion and former state senator, Raquel Terán, lost her bid to become the Democratic nominee for Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District. The tight race had to go to a recount and ultimately came down to 39 votes.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Raquel Terán ran an inspiring campaign. It came down to 39 votes, which is a testament to the grassroots movement that powered her campaign. We are proud to have endorsed her early in this race and mobilized our members to support her. She has shown time and again that she will never back down from the fight for abortion rights and access. While we had hoped for a different outcome, we remain committed to fighting side by side with Arizonans to advance our fundamental rights and freedoms.”
