Reproductive Freedom For All Responds to Republican Debate: When Will Republicans Hear What Voters Are Telling Them?
Washington, DC â Tonight, during the third Republican presidential debate, the candidates doubled down on supporting a national abortion ban while desperately trying to reframe the policy as a âlimit.â Their comments come just one day after this same strategy led to a massive sweep for reproductive freedom in critical races all across the country.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement in response:
âItâs clear that the GOP sees Tuesdayâs defeats not as a rebuke of their policies and extremism but as a mandate to double down on their attempts to lie about their unpopular policies. Calling a ban a limit is like putting lipstick on a pig. A ban is not a âlimitââvoters know it, and they already rejected this ridiculous attempt to conceal Republicansâ dangerous agenda. Last night, voters sent a resounding message from the American people that Republicans ought to heed: Donât come after our reproductive freedom.â Â
