Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Senate GOP Blocking Democrats’ IVF Vote

Washington, DC Today, Republicans in the U.S. Senate blocked an effort from Senate Democrats —led by Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL)—to federally protect in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other fertility treatments through unanimous consent. Unsurprisingly, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) blocked the bill on behalf of Senate Republicans.

Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement in response:

No matter how they try to hide it, Republicans’ extremist agenda always sought to roll back fundamental freedoms—from abortion to IVF to birth control and more. Voters won’t stand for this extremism, and you can count on them making that clear this November.”
