Reproductive Freedom For All Responds to Susan B. Anthony Anti-Abortion Group’s Plan to Buy Senate Seats in Georgia

Washington, DC – Today, the anti-abortion group, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, pledged to spend millions of dollars to buy the Georgia Senate seat for an anti-abortion extremist.

Reproductive Freedom for All, President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:

“Anti-abortion extremists know they don’t have voters on their side, so they are trying to buy a critical Senate seat. In Georgia, we have seen the tragic and deadly consequences of the extreme abortion ban, and Buddy Carter, Derik Dooley, and Mike Collins have made it clear they will always choose Trump’s extreme agenda over Georgians. We are grateful for Senator Jon Ossoff’s tireless work to protect access to reproductive freedom in Georgia.”

Georgia has some of the most extreme anti-abortion legislation in the country, and one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the country. There have already been deadly consequences to the GOP’s extreme abortion ban, and all members of Georgia’s Maternal Mortality Committee were dismissed by the state after speaking out about the deaths of Candi Miller and Amber Nicole Thurman.

Georgia is a key battleground state this election cycle. We have 85,000 members in Georgia mobilizing to make weekly phone banks, canvases, trainings, and education events that introduce new voters to our work.
