Reproductive Freedom for All Responds to Trump’s Presidential Budget Release
Washington, D.C. — Today, the Trump administration released its presidential budget proposal to begin the annual process of funding the federal government. Like previous budgets, Trump’s proposal offers no relief to address the affordability crisis he and his allies have unleashed on millions of Americans. Instead, Trump is funneling even more federal funding to advance his unpopular agenda.
His budget proposes to further decimate funding for sexual and reproductive care at both the national and global levels by continuing attacks on Planned Parenthood and family planning funds through Title X, gutting funding for sexual health and contraception, eliminating the critical Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, and attacking critical support for LGBTQ+ health care—specifically targeting gender-affirming care. Throughout the proposal, Trump weaponizes federal funding through disseminating disinformation to suppress nonprofit organizations.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“A presidential budget tells you what an administration values, and this one makes it clear Trump will continue to raise everyday costs for families while gutting the health care people rely on, including critical reproductive care services and research. His unpopular agenda has brought his approval to an all-time low by further cutting the programs that ensure people across the country have access to the care they need. Congress needs to remember who they work for and who can vote them out in November.”
